Recovering Bugged Blockchain Wallet, Decrypt & Dump via BTCRecover (Correct Password Doesn't Work)

-

A video that runs through a bug that exists which prevents some older (Pre 2015 era) blockchain.com (previously blockchain.info) wallets from working, even if you have the correct password. (Throws an incorrect password error)

If you are new to Crypto, my suggestion is that you start with buying ~$150 worth of Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin @ Coinbase and get familiar with storing it, moving it around, etc.

For your first purcahse, just stick with CoinBase:

For Trading, just start with Binance:

By sticking with large, reputable exchanges for your first purchase (Coinbase) and first trade (Binance) you can avoid getting scammed right at the start by purchasing a non-existing coin off a scammy exchange. (You would be surprised how many people fall into this trap)

Don’t have a hardware wallet?
Be safe and buy them direct from the manufacturer. (Not just through some random on eBay, Amazon, etc)
Get a Ledger:
(If you are just starting out, I would just recommend a Ledger Nano S)

  1. I am getting an error – it says successfully dumped for my old Schildbach wallet, but then no documentation or text files are created. It says it is unable to do a full dump and can only do private keys which is okay with me – but When I test it with the example wallets provided, it works fine and creates the documents needed.

  2. Positions 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 10, 11 I have complete words,
    Position 3 is completely forgotten,
Position 6 Remember only the words that start with C
Position 9 Remember only words that start with S
    Position 12 is completely forgotten.
What command will I use to execute it?

  3. can not access bitcoin in an address that belongs to a unisat wallet, although i have the 12 word phrase and password.

i recently reinstalled my OS and reinstalled chrome, then reinstalled UNISAT extention on chrome and tried to get to my wallet with recovery pharse wich is 12 words and password, but it gets me to a different wallet, not my wallet adress, my wallet adress is there and it has my bitcoins as well, but i cant access it, what can i do?

  4. I'm having an issue here. I'm on Mac. Followed the Mac vid. All tests working great.

    trying command –

    Python3.11 btcrecover. py –wallet ./btcrecover-master/wallet.aes.json

    –dump-privkeys blockchain-github-v1-1_main_privkeys.txt –correct-wallet-password (passhere)

    but I get this return

Error: argument –tokenlist or –passwordlist is required (or file btcrecover-tokens-auto.txt must be present)
    zsh: number expected

Not sure if there is an updated command to look at for it?

  5. Can you help me out directly? I didn’t save my 12 phrases and I tried all my passwords and none of it worked. It is close to 1 year. And the password I used is something I often use. I just found your channel now.

  6. So basically I’m learning about the blockchain and this video pops up… I have a lost fund issue.. simply because I have lost my email password, which I used to register my wallet.. is the btcrecover helpful? Can it help generate 12 word phrase or private key for same wallet because I have the wallet ID? God bless you… I hit the subscribe button

  7. Hello. Is there a btcrecover tool that will allow me to "download-blockchain-wallet" for a legacy account affected by the 'bug?' The download-blockchain-wallet,py script does not return any results when searching for my "Wallet ID." While I have my Wallet ID and correct password, I do not have my wallet file nor mnemonic phrase.

  8. If we run this code its giving us the same code we are seeing in the test. I am trying to find reference on how to actually use the code. Where does the wallet and pass information go? This is sort of helpful but there is a missing piece here. Anyone? links? This is frustrating as its presented as JUST DO THIS. But there is a missing element here that has burned a lot of time. I would be more appreciative of a straight $100 pitch to help.

  9. Once I recovered with my keys, all of the sudden it’s my account is trying to verify my identity. My account won’t let me buy or sell crypto and I’m not sure what to do. It’s been like this for a week.

  10. Hi, I can’t log into my blockchain account even though I am 100% sure the password is correct. I have disabled 2fa so waiting for blockchain to remove it. I have 2 accounts from 2017 and I can’t log into either of them. I am using Mac. Can you please do a video on Mac step by step. I’m desperate to log into my account. Please help.
