Following last week’s court ruling demanding the SEC review their previous rejection of Grayscale’s Bitcoin ETF application, the Grayscale Bitcoin Trust (GBTC) discount to NAV tightened to 18% from 25%. Although this has since widened to 20% amid short-term uncertainty, Bloomberg analysts have now set 75% odds of an SEC-approved Bitcoin ETF by the end of the year, with JPMorgan predicting the SEC will be “forced” to greenlight them. Visa announced an expansion of its USDC stablecoin settlement capabilities to the Solana blockchain, already successfully moving millions between issuers and acquirers. As Visa Head of Crypto Cuy Sheffield puts it, the intersection and use of stablecoins and scalable blockchain networks helps them stay “at the forefront of digital currency and blockchain innovation” and ultimately “improve the way they move money.” Circle will be rolling out its ecosystem growth plan in September, bringing USDC to six new blockchains; for Cosmos, Noble was selected as the asset issuance chain to bring native USDC to the network.
